Import from Pocket
Pocket closed in July 2025, and its export can no longer be downloaded. If you saved your export before then, Readsira imports it. If you did not, your browser's bookmarks file often holds many of the same links: see Browser bookmarks.
Which file to upload
Any of these, as Pocket delivered them:
- The export ZIP (for example
pocket_export.zip). Upload it as it is, without unpacking. Readsira reads everypart_*.csvinside it, and the highlights inannotations/*.jsonwhen the ZIP has them. - A CSV from that ZIP (
part_000000.csv). Its header row istitle,url,time_added,tags,status. Highlights live in a separate file of the ZIP, so a CSV on its own imports without them. - The older HTML export (
ril_export.html, titled "Pocket Export", with the sections "Unread" and "Read Archive").
Then open the Import page in Readsira, choose Pocket and drop the file.
What comes across
| In Pocket | In Readsira |
|---|---|
| Link and title | The saved item |
Tags (| separated in the CSV) | Tags, as written |
Date added (time_added) | The item's saved date |
Status archive / "Read Archive" | Archived |
Status unread / "Unread" | In your Inbox |
| Highlights (ZIP only) | Highlights on the item, with the date you made them |
What does not
- Favourites: Pocket's export does not include them.
- Notes and folders: Pocket has no folders, and its export carries no notes.
- Article text: Pocket's export holds links only; Readsira fetches each page in the background for search.
Duplicates, undo and size limits work the same for every source: see Import your library.
